Wedding Outfits for Your Dog!
In a recent ceremony at the hotel, I witnessed another popular trend amongst couples – having your dog be a part of your big day! While working on this particular wedding I came across the website GlamourDog.com. Here you can find quite the variety of dog wedding outfits including dresses, tuxedos, bow ties and specialty collars. They come in just about every color to match any wedding theme!

Ting & Che’s 10.10.10 Wedding Featured in “Inside Weddings”
I’ve done many weddings over the years, but really enjoyed planning the big day for Ting and Che with the assistance and experience of Carolyn Chen, The Special Day. Carolyn’s endless creativity showcased a round die cut letterpress menu pre-set on the base plates, truly unique!
The day enveloped timeless elegance. If someone were to ask me what my favorite element was, it would be the elegant flowers Ting used… blush roses and white hydrangeas, designed by Nisie’s Enchanted Florist – so very romantic throughout The Huntington Ballroom. The stunning florals were highlighted by romantic lace tablecloths and chair covers by Wildflower Linens with the enchanting day beautifully captured by Victor Sizemore Photography.

Wedding Music Videos
We just came across this wedding music video of Joya and Emre singing the Black Eyed Peas song “The Time.” It’s such a creative and entertaining out-of-the-box alternative to the normal wedding videos and was so much fun to watch that we wanted to share!
Tea With E – The Recap
Last week we were privileged to co-host an amazing event in conjunction with Eddie Zaratsian, Creative Director for tic-tock Couture Florals. It began, very simply, with a phone call.
Hint – visit the tic-tock Couture Florals blog and learn about Arabella Huntington’s connection to Harry Winston and Tiffany’s New York.
Christine Zohrabians, of Fancy That! event design and coordination – who is one of our select vendor partners, learned that Eddie was looking for the perfect enchanting venue to stage his annual “Tea with E” so she suggested The Langham.
Eddie described his vision to me and I was immediately thrilled. We had been looking for a creative way to indulge and express our gratitude to our hard-working wedding planner partners and this was the perfect way!
We met with the talented Rhonda Couchigian of Raye C. Marketing to brainstorm our concept. For me it was easy. My only criteria was that the design and décor not be traditional and I mentioned in passing that I liked the impact that a monochromatic palette for florals creates.
I completely trusted Eddie to execute. I was confident his creation would set the stage for something unexpected and luxurious; after all, we knew our audience had seen just about everything!
When Eddie brought Revelry and Wildflower Linens on board, my job was easy…I knew we had a winning combination of creative professionals. We had Marianne Lozanno Photography to record the afternoon, Cean One Photography to take the portraits in a one-of-a-kind photo booth, and Images by Lighting to add the warm glow that set the stage; well, we had a winner of course.
The coral peonies and the cayenne roses were breathtaking! Take a look at these amazing photos:
Initially we expected about 40 planners, which we agreed would be a realistic number. Within a few weeks of the invitiations going out we’d outgrown our Georgian Ballroom and needed to re-locate to the larger Viennese Ballroom. In the end, our event was attended by 77 luxury wedding planners and 130 of the Wedding industry’s finest professionals.
Creating an event sometimes starts with a crazy idea, a bizarre concept, or a mere thought; sometimes brought on by a glimpse of nature, something seen in the window display of a retail store, a photograph, or an article. Turning a nice party into a Memorable Event is accomplished by surrounding yourself with professionals. Remember this simple premise and you’ll actually even be able to enjoy your own party, as I did!

Real Wedding – Katherine and Terence
From the moment that I first met Katherine and Terence it was obvious just how much they truly loved each other. They were one of the most genuine and gracious couples I have ever had the pleasure of working with.
Loyd Calomay was the couple’s videographer and prepared a fantastic “Same Day Edit” which was then shown during the Wedding Reception. Some of my favorite highlights of this video were of course the candid shots of the bride and groom getting ready, their “First Look” which took place in the Courtyard (I just love seeing the look on the Grooms face when he sees the Bride for the first time), and of course the teary-eyed ceremony in the Horseshoe Garden. There are also great shots of the beautiful pink flowering trees in the garden which often bloom in February/March and are a wonderful addition to the already enchanting backdrop!

Their pink color scheme in the Horseshoe Garden coordinated perfectly with the blooming trees.
The Viennese Ballroom was transformed into a serene and romantic setting filled with soft pastel colors and warm uplighting and pinspots. The fresh scent of flowers and the gentle flicker of candles filled the room.
Like so many of our recent Bride’s, Katherine had her heart set on a dessert station! We worked directly with our Pastry Chef to customize the dessert table to fit her design and budget. She also provided the pedestals to coordinate with her overall wedding décor!
I loved their cake topper and the fact that they incorporated their beloved furry family members into it! You can see a photo of little “Peanut” and “Butter” on our blog posting about pets since they were also included in the wedding ceremony.
You couldn’t help by smile if you were in a room with them; they seemed to bring out the happiness in anyone they came in contact with. Not to mention that their gorgeous smiles were truly contagious!

Grooms Cakes
We are often asked by our couples, “What is a groom’s cake?” Well, the answer is simple.
The grooms’ cake is a tradition that started in the South as a gift from the bride to the groom and quickly spread from there. Typically this cake would be smaller than the wedding cake and would be decorated to reflect something of interest to the groom whether that be a hobby, a favorite team, or part of his heritage. Although according to tradition, this cake was not served at the reception but rather boxed up and given as favors to guests as they departed the event. The single women at the wedding would then take their pieces of cake home and sleep with it under their pillows in hopes of dreaming of their future husbands.
Noticeably, some aspects of that tradition are clearly outdated, as we would not recommend sleeping with boxes of cake under your pillow, but the tradition of having a cake to reflect the grooms individual personality is still going strong! Our talented Pastry Chefs here at The Langham are happy to work with you to create something that truly reflects your guy on his special day.
