Real Wedding: Lindsay & Kevin
October 7, 2011 was very special for Lindsay and Kevin, as they shared a magical day together with friends and family while celebrating their love for each other. They were kind enough to share some of their wedding photos with us, which turned out beautifully!
A note from Lindsay:
One of the best things about mine and Kevin’s relationship is that we are both very romantic with each other. I wanted that same feeling of romance to carry over on our wedding day. I wanted something romantic, sultry, elegant, almost mysterious, but something that was still me. Something about the Garden of Eden reminds me of romance and mystery and I wanted that sexy garden feel to come alive. Also, I didn’t just want this to be a wedding; I also wanted it to be an experience, for both ourselves and our guests. I wanted it to be something that my guests would walk away from going “WOW, that was so beautiful, so romantic and so Lindsay and Kevin”.
The Langham gave us just that! This romantic garden gave us so much to work with. I remember taking this exact picture, feeling like we were the only two people in this amazing crazy moment in this unbelievably beautiful place. It was the best feeling in the world. We wanted more flowers then one has seen before. It was the most important part of my vision. I wanted this amazing garden filled with these gorgeous flowers and I really feel like I got just that. Larrissa with Inviting Occasion exceeded our expectations and filled The Japanese Garden and Georgian Ballroom with flowers galore. She has made florals and centerpieces an art and absolutely blew everyone away!

Real Wedding: Michelle & Matt
We recently had the pleasure of hosting the wedding of Michelle and Matt in The Japanese Garden and The Georgian Ballroom. The couple lives in New York, but Michelle is originally from LA and still has her family here, which is why they chose Southern California for their wedding.
Here’s a note from the groom, Matt:
We had originally planned on a beach wedding, but stumbled across The Langham and fell in love! From the historic feel of the buildings to the beautiful gardens to the amazing food, the choice was easy. The staff was very friendly throughout the process and made the experience stress-free, particularly so given that we live on the East Coast. During our planning, we ended up using many vendor’s from the recommended list and found them all to be top-tier and easy to work with. We look forward to celebrating anniversaries for many years to come!
Here are a few of our favorite pictures from Michelle and Matt’s wedding:
Photos were taken by Albert Postel of Art of Photography and Ruth Wang of Behind the Scene Wedding Coordination was the planner.
Congratulations to Michelle and Matt!

Real Wedding: Jane & Mark
Jane and Mark are such a sweet and genuine couple who were envisioning having their celebration out in the beautiful Horseshoe Garden, so you can imagine my disappointment for them when the forecast projected rain!
Throughout the entire process, Jane and Mark handled the weather situation extremely well and remembered that this was their special day, a day to celebrate their love for each other in the presence of their family and friends, and that it would be magical regardless of if they were able to utilize the Garden or if they had to be moved inside to a back up location.
It was truly remarkable to see how they handled a situation that would usually cause so much stress, so calmly. It is easy to get caught up in the stress involved in planning a wedding and often times it seems as though couples forget that the real purpose of the day is to share their love for each other. Jane and Mark never lost sight of that throughout all the weather bumps along the way and that was refreshing to see.
It seems as though Jane and Mark had the weather Gods on their side this time, and although it rained off and on throughout the morning, we were still able to give them both the Garden wedding they had envisioned.
Their photos, by Sam Lim Studios, turned out beautifully and I am so happy to have been a part of their special day!

We wish them a lifetime of happiness ahead!

In Celebration of Christmas
The hotel is truly magical year round, but the sparkle intensifies at this time of the year.
What a wonderful time for a wedding! Thought I’d share some images…come on over for a cup of cheer!

Destination Wedding: Jae and Stephen
The Horseshoe Garden provided the perfect backdrop for Jae and Stephen’s destination wedding, where they exchanged vows under the perfect autumn skies surrounded by 300 of their closest friends and family members (including one very special canine guest named Oliver)!
Having known each other since ages 11 and 12, Jae and Stephen’s families have intertwined over the years despite hailing from different locales: Michigan and Colorado. A destination wedding at the Langham was “the ideal spot for us” says Stephen, who felt the property was both “elegant, yet down to earth” and felt “somewhat removed from the bustle of LA.”
Their reception was held in The Huntington Ballroom, where a clean and simple ambiance was achieved by mixing white and blue accent lighting. Guests were presented with an array of dining, including assorted baby greens with poached asparagus, marinated pear tomatoes, daikon sprouts with a rice wine emulsion, filet mignon with potatoes au gratin, Chilean sea bass with polenta cake and mushroom ravioli. For dessert, guests chose between two french buttercream topped wedding cake flavors: french vanilla sponge cake with custard and fresh fruit filling or chocolate buttermilk cake with raspberry filling.
Erick Weiss from Honeysweet Productions provided event planning for the day; florals were provided by The Flower Factory; live entertainment was provided by the talented Art Deco Band and the day was beautifully photographed by Lawrence Crandall.
