Black by Vera Wang
The Queen of the bridal world, Vera Wang, has united forces with Men’s Wearhouse to launch her new Black by Vera Wang line.
“For more than twenty years, I have shared my design vision with women around the world, so it is exciting to now have the opportunity to share that with men as well,” Wang said in a press release. “With an exceptional reputation as one the largest men’s specialty retailers, Men’s Wearhouse was a natural retail partner for the Black by Vera Wang collection.”
The initial collecion will include two tuxedo styles, one in traditional black and one in an ultra chic gray.
Both options will have a modern and sophisticated look. They will be offered in standard fit, slim fit as well as “big and tall” sizing. The Black by Vera Wang collection will launch exclusively in all Men’s Wearhouse retail stores in the US in late Spring 2012.

Show and Tell
If you’re having a post wedding brunch, it’s a great idea to end your spectacular wedding weekend with a slideshow from the wedding. Instead of disposable cameras on each table at the reception, you can pass out digital cameras to your guests on the first night and ask them to take pictures throughout the weekend. (You can also pass out a variety of SD cards for your guests to use in their own digital cameras!) Ask a bridesmaid or relative to collect the cameras before the end of the reception and have them downloaded to a waiting iPad, laptop or computer. The next morning, they’ll be ready for a slide show for all to enjoy!
You may also want to ask a bridesmaid or family member to print out the pictures and make a pinup board for the brunch as well. This way guests can take copies of their favorite pictures with them!

Should We Invite Children to our Evening Reception?
Peggy Post, director of the Emily Post Institute and the great-granddaughter-in-law of its namesake, weighs in on this question and more:
Amy from Baltimore writes that “she and her fiancé don’t see eye to eye when it comes to inviting children to their wedding.”
Peggy Post responds…
“Just as important as whether you invite children to your wedding is that you and your fiancé come to an agreement on the issue. Now is the time for a stick-to-the-facts, heart-to-heart conversation with him. Explain your concerns about the potential of children disrupting the elegant ambience of a formal reception. Also, assure him that it is totally O.K. not to invite children. Many couples have kid-free weddings, and many parents wouldn’t expect their young children to be invited to a formal evening wedding. Besides, they may want a chance to enjoy the event without child-care duties.

Do you want to Dance?
Do you and your fiancé enjoy dancing? To set the mood for the night and add some entertainment for your guests, you should choreograph your first dance. You can start off with a slow tempo song and then have it suddenly switch to a high-energy one, where you bust out all of your favorite dance moves. You may want to hire a professional to help you with this! Your guests will be so entertained that they’ll want to join you on the dance floor!

Real Wedding – Lexia & Joe
We recently had the pleasure of hosting Lexia and Joe for their special day in December. They decided to embrace a winter theme for their wedding and it turned out to be a spectacular display! From the beautiful lighting, to the Christmas tree, to the beautiful floral arrangements, Lexia and Joe created a beautiful setting for their wedding that will last in their guests’ memories for a very long time!
Here are some photos I took before their wedding:
Congratulations Lexia & Joe!

With appreciation to our Festival of Brides contributing Preferred Vendor partners!
Our stunning booth this weekend at the Festival of Brides was designed by Arisine of Shirvan Designs, Haute Events and Florals. You simply must visit her Pasadena showroom!
Marilyn Bedhar of Town and Country Event Rentals coordinated luxurious furnishings and table top appointments from the Town and Country Event Rentals showroom located right here in Pasadena. Everyone at the show fell in love with their new distressed wood dance floor!
John Quinn, our in-house Pastry Chef, and his team presented sumptuous samplings of Blissful Bites from our Blissful Bites menu.
The talented Duke Images Photography was our show photographer and the Grace Ormonde, Wedding Style Winter 2012 publications were consumed faster than the chocolate truffles! A great time was had by all!

Tasty Clouds Candy Company
Nina from Tasty Clouds stopped by the office recently and brought with her some amazing goodies for us to try. The colors and flavors are absolutely delicious. And I am in LOVE with her shout out to Harry Potter, as the small bags are called Petit Nimbus!
Check out Nina’s website for more information: www.tastyclouds.com
Here are some photos of the cotton candy stations she’s created:
Another amazing fact about her cotton candy is that you can use them to make drinks! From peppermint to apple, all you have to do is put the cotton candy in a martini glass, add vodka (or your liquor of choice) and voila – a truly custom cocktail!
Here’s a video clip of Nina’s recent “My Fair Wedding with David Tutera” appearance, showcasing different ways to use cotton candy for a wedding reception:

Luxurious Linens
Stunning table linens are the lipstick to your décor. Including specialty linens in your design plan adds an element of your own personal style.
Wildflower Linens is one of The Langham’s select preferred vendors. Youngsoung Martin, owner and founder, was a nationally known fashion designer of high-style women’s apparel before transforming the world of table linens in 2001. Her designs can be found in all the luxury bridal publications such as Grace Ormonde Wedding Style, Inside Weddings, Bride and Bloom and Ceremony Magazine.
My favorite, from the first time I saw it, was this ruffled pink number!
Can’t you just see your bridal table dressed to the “nine’s” in the pink ruffle? Your guest’s dinner tables could be more simply dressed in a soft pink taffeta tablecloth draped to the floor, thus making your head table the feature in the room and a perfect backdrop for the true stars of the evening – you and your fiancée!

Lasting Memories of your Special Occasion
A bride and groom of mine were looking for something different for their wedding and found an amazing artist named Agnes Csiszar Russo, who will be painting live during their reception! Agnes is known for capturing the details of life’s most special events and turning them in to art masterpieces that will last a lifetime. I thought that the couple’s idea to have Agnes at their wedding was such a fun and different way to capture their most special memories and I can’t wait to see their final painting!
